Black Belt Trainings
Because of the clubs large number of black belts, Sunday training sessions will now be for Black Belts only. (Black stripes may attend but they will be pretty much left to there own devices). This year there will be a big emphasis on Patterns and partner stretching. if there are any other areas that you would like to work on please let me know. The first session of every month will be a sparring session and all club members are invited to attend this. If there are any Black Belts that would like to instruct part or all of these sessions please let me know. This year Kirsten will be taking class more and if you are keen to take part of; or a whole session please let me know. The more Black Belts we have instructing the better for everyone.

I am pleased to announce that Josh (my son) passed his 1st Dan grading. Out of 22 students grading he was one of two students to get an A Pass. (There were a few students who have to re-sit their grading and a couple of pass incompletes). Having wittnessed the formal part of the grading along with, Frances, Todd and Kirsten i can honestly say that we are doing very well in regards to our standard of Taekwon-Do. I spoke to Master McPhail and he commented on how well our club is doing. I did tell him that i have great Black Belts and a real sense of community in the club and that was the secret to our success.

Over Xmas i presented Josh with a Taranaki TKD Dobok and a Black Belt. He was very honoured to recieve it and said that he was grateful for all the support that he recieved from our club. He wants to wear it to his own club but i said that "it may not be a good idea" lol.

I am looking forward to 2012 and all the challenges that it will present so see you in a few weeks. Until then enjoy your rest.

This a pretty impressive photo for an independant club. I think next year we will organise a black belt photo with everyone in attendance.
